As part of a work experience placement with journalist Guy Smallman I attended UNITE Union’s “Stand Up for Bus Drivers” protest.

I learnt about the media’s role in covering protests and valued the opportunity to interview a UNITE Union member and bus driver.

This gave me insight into the day to day issues surrounding working conditions for bus workers. Following the protest I was commissioned to write an article further exploring bus driver working conditions for Sussex Bylines.
